“The Nun’s pilgrimage” by Chilean Jaime Silva directed by Lina de Guevara, translated by Rosa Stewart.
In 1810, a group of nuns abandon their convent to escape Chilean troops fighting against colonialist Spain. A metaphor of life, its diversity and its mysteries.
January 31- 2010
“Aurash" by Iranian Bahram Beyza’ie, translated and adapted by Soheil Parsa and Brian Quirt, directed by Will Weigler. A play that borrows an episode from a Persian epic to make a strong anti-war, anti violence statement. “Aurash” was first produced by Modern Times Stage Company in 1998 and has since been presented by the company in Colombia, Iran, Cuba and Bosnia-Herzegovina. “The Person” by Egyptian Alfred Farag, directed by Erin Macklem
An intriguing portrait of modern life’s absurdities.
The reading will be followed by a presentation of the participants in a workshop inspired on “The person”, conducted by visiting director Majdi Bou-Matar

“Living Memories: Kenya’s untold stories”, by Kenyan Al Kags, directed by Lina de Guevara.
The tragic history of Kenya during it's fight for independence from Britain, told by the men and women who lived through it. A new play, presented for the first time in November 2009 at the Nairobi National Museum.
